I’ve been an avid gardener for more than 30 years. My background includes formal horticultural training through Oregon State University’s Extension program and two years as an organic gardening volunteer with the Peace Corps. I currently own a small-scale dahlia tuber business that I operate out of my home. I also volunteer in Clatsop County community gardens and at Astoria Sunday Market, where I help local gardeners learn best practices.
My specialties are flowers, landscape plants, raised bed gardening, soil amending, and small-scale pruning. I’m available for garden planning, planting, weeding, pest management, fertilizing, and shrub care. I have all of my own tools and I offer years of specialized experience gardening on the coast.

Rates & Service Area
- Free Consultation: I offer a free on-site 30 minute consult where we can discuss the scope of your needs. During this time I can give you a better idea of what I think needs to be done. It's always helpful if you can send any pictures of the space beforehand via text or email.
Local Rate: $50/hour with a 1-hour minimum in Astoria proper. I accept Venmo, Paypal, cash or local check, and I am happy to send an invoice via email or text.
Extended Service Area: Locations beyond 10 miles from Astoria, OR south-slope carry a 2-hour minimum. I work as far south as Seaside and Cannon Beach.
Philosophy & Practices My methods are primarily organic and rooted in sustainable practices designed to work alongside nature and local beneficial insects. I like to think of every garden as its own ecosystem: with thoughtful design, it needs very little intervention to thrive.
Please note: I do not haul away green debris or install plastic weed barriers, as synthetic barriers compromise long-term soil health and vitality. I don't work on ladders so any extra tall shrubs or trees (over 6ft) will be out of my scope of services. I do not weed graveled areas, but am happy to apply anti-weed remedies such as horticultural vinegar for an extra fee (horticultural vinegar is caustic and requires PPE including a respirator and goggles). I generally do not apply products such as miracle grow or roundup, but will occasionally recommend a chemical fungicide for severe fungal infections in certain plants.
